玛丽·荷·艾斯(Marie Hall Ets)

1895年12月16日出生于美国威斯康星州的密尔沃基。自幼喜爱画画，上小学一年级时就开始去大人的绘画教室学习。曾就读于劳伦斯学院和纽约美术学校。艾斯一生共出版了21本图画书，其中《老鼠安东尼·乌先生》(Mr.T.W. Anthony Woo，1951)获得1952年凯迪克奖银奖，《和我一起玩》(Play with Me，1955)获得1956年凯迪克奖银奖,《宾尼先生的赛马》(Mr. Penny’s Race Horse，1956)获得1957年凯迪克奖银奖,《就是我》(Just Me，1965)获得1966年凯迪克奖银奖，《还差九天圣诞节》(Nine Days to Christmas，1959)获得1960年凯迪克奖金奖。
