Phantom Shanghai

If you've never visited Shanghai, I should probably point out that most of the city doesn't look the way it does in these photographs. Of you know the city, you'll know that much of it still does. These are photographs of the Shanghai that will not survive the vision the city has for itself. That these homes, shops, lanes and buildings survived as long as they did, and in the way that they did, is by accident rather than design...
