作者简介

弗雷德•乌尔曼（Fred Uhlman，1901—1985），德裔英国作家、画家、律师，出生于斯图加特一个富庶的犹太中产家庭，获图宾根大学法学博士学位。1933年希特勒上台，乌尔曼流亡巴黎，卖画谋生，自1935年首次举办画展以来，作品被多家知名博物馆或画廊收藏。1936 年迁居英国，在家中庇护了斯蒂芬•茨威格等多位流离失所的知识分子和艺术家。乌尔曼以英文进行写作，只留下为数不多的文学作品。《重逢》首版于1971年，全球先后有67个版本。1989年，诺贝尔文学奖获得者哈罗德•品特亲自执笔本书剧本改编，影片入围戛纳电影节金棕榈奖。
