西蒙·温切斯特（Simon Winchester）
英国著名作家、记者。生于1944年，毕业于牛津大学地质系。曾任《卫报》及《星期日泰晤士报》海外特派员，并为《纽约时报》《国家地理杂志》及BBC等媒体撰稿，现居美国。
温切斯特长于描述历史事件，《教授与疯子》《喀拉喀托火山》《改变世界的地图》等小说多次登上《纽约时报》畅销书榜单。温切斯特凭借在新闻及文学领域的贡献，于2006年获大英帝国勋章。
